Meet The Team
Sam heads the Heritage Group, where his 46 years experience in banking, investments and law is invaluable. He holds a LLM in Tax Law from New York University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska, and a BS in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sam enjoys crafting business succession and estate plans to keep businesses and farms in the family.
Cam grew up in Aurora, Nebraska. He enjoys finding ways to help farmers and businesses become more competitive by reducing costs and diversifying revenue. He works hard to ensure that people and capital remain in out-state Nebraska to keep our rural communities strong. He holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Cam earned his Crop Insurance license in 2020 as well.
Jacob has five years of experience in banking and insurance. He holds a BS-Finance from University of Nebraska-Kearney and is licensed in Property/Casualty and Crop insurance. Jacob enjoys the opportunity to establish and build relationships with Ag and Business customers, while providing advice and financial expertise. Jacob also serves as the company’s lead talent recruiter as we grow our team of professionals.
Relationship Manager, Director of Sales
Adam holds a BS in Agribusiness Banking & Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He joined Heritage Bank in 2015. Adam earned his Property & Casualty Insurance license in 2017 and Crop/Hail Insurance license in 2018. Adam specializes in Agricultural, Commercial, and Consumer Lending for Heritage Bank in the Red Cloud and Orleans area. In addition, he serves as the Director of Sales for the company. Adam is most passionate about helping local agricultural and commercial business owners start and/or grow their operations into sustainable, multi-generational family businesses.
Relationship Manager, Senior Lender, Branch President
Jim has 40 years experience in banking, insurance and real estate. He has a B.S. in Ag Economics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and completed the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, CO. Jim also holds State of Nebraska Real Estate Brokers License, along with Property/Casualty, Life and Crop Insurance Licenses. He is committed to helping customers reach their goals, through analysis of business opportunities and risk management.
Relationship Manager, Senior Lender
Curt joined Heritage Bank in 1991, and provides loan and financial services to agricultural and small business customers. He graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics, as well as the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. In addition to his banking duties, Curt is a licensed crop insurance agent and licensed Nebraska Real Estate Broker.
Dawn’s 25 years of banking lending and loan administration experience are a great benefit as she works with consumers and business customers alike. In addition to assisting loan customers in Hastings, Dawn is one of Heritage Bank’s Mortgage Specialists. She holds an Associates Degree in Accounting. You’ll enjoy Dawn’s pleasant service and ‘can-do’ attitude.
A central Nebraska native, Nic’s commitment and demeanor translates into great service to both his agricultural and commercial banking clients. He appreciates the value of every dollar to his customers and strives to provide a service that helps put dollars back in their pockets year after year. Nic has a passion for his work with his customers and spends time understanding how we can best help those folks grow and create wealth that will last for generations to come. He holds a BS in Business/Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Nic joined the Heritage team in 2019 and expanded his farm expertise in 2020 by earning his Crop Insurance license. He looks forward to furthering his relationships with ag producers, business owners and his neighbors in the Hastings area.
Clayton is a Burwell native and manages the Loup City, St. Paul, and Broken Bow Branches. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned a BS in Agribusiness Banking and Finance. He started working with Heritage in 2019. Clayton specializes in Agriculture, Commercial, and Consumer Lending for Heritage Bank in the Howard, Sherman, and Custer County areas. His Agriculture background and extensive lending training experience make him a great asset to his clients. Clayton’s ag expertise was expanded in 2020 when he earned his Crop Insurance license to complement the services and knowledge he brings to the table.

Nick is, first and foremost, happily married to Audrey (a ranch girl from Wyoming) and they have five great kids. Nick is also a high priest and the Bishop of his local congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nick Graduated from the University of Wyoming and started his career in banking. After a few other jobs, including a four year stint as the Chief Financial Officer for the Wyoming Department of Family Services, he decided to return to banking and made the move to Kearney NE. Nick joined the Heritage Bank team in May of 2021 and brings with him 8 years of banking experience. He is excited to work with and help commercial and agricultural customers to understand the financial aspect of their operation with as much or as little help as they may need.
Austin was raised on a farm in Elm Creek NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Agribusiness. Following a couple years of interning with Heritage during college, he joined the Heritage team full time in May 2022 as a Relationship Manager. Austin is excited to work in the Wood River market and get to know area ag producers, businesses and residents, as well as get involved in community development projects. Austin works hard to understand every borrower’s objectives and challenges then identify solutions that will be best for the customer long-term. His ag experience, approachability and commitment to the community will be very beneficial. Austin also earned his Crop Insurance license in 2022 to add value to our ag relationships as well.
